Outta my way my daddy's home (OP LOVE Reunited)

As a military wife whose husband is currently deployed these sessions are very special to me. I wanted to share a small preview of this gorgeous 21 month old waiting for dad to come back home. To be able to be part of this moment is very special to me. As I waited in the heat for a brief moment I thought, how excited I will feel when Diego and I wait for Frank to be home. I wish the weather would have been nicer. It seemed like a perfect Saturday for a shoot, but sadly the rain poured on us. I decided to set up my lighting and get a few quick shots indoor of this beautiful mommy. I was excited to re shoot but J's baby had different plans. He was born on July 4th. Congratulations J it was so lovely for me to be able to capture this moment for you. I can't wait to meet him soon.

I am way overdue on an update. I'm sorry I haven't updated as much as I would love to but a few things have kept me busy. The main one being my active 2 year old Diego. I'm excited to show a few things that are in store.I have a few projects in mind in the upcoming months and if all goes well I will definitly be sharing.

UPDATE: My husband decided to cut Diego's hair last month and his curls are gone :(. I'm hoping they grow back. He looks like a complete different baby. Much older, and I'm really having a hard time realizing my baby is growing up.

A few months ago I became addicted. My addiction turned out to be "BLOGS" I discovered some of the most amazing photographers. I am captivated by the incredible talent out there and I make sure to book mark my favorites to go back. I received a sweet e-mail today on why I haven't updated my blog. After replying I decided to open up my list and I had not realized how behind I am, not only on my blog but on checking out my favorites. So here's my first step on a little update.

Diego's birthday party turned out great. Once I get the photos uploaded I'll show a few since my 48 week challenge slowed down a bit. My camera has taken a little vacation but will be back soon. So I'll get back on track. :)

What the... (update)

So just a quick update since it's been a while since I've blogged. Diego will be turning 2 tomorrow so I've been a bit busy trying to get it all together for the big day. We're taking him to the zoo. I think this might be a yearly tradition since we took him for the first time last year on his 1st birthday. Here's a few shots from last year.I can not believe another year has gone by and he will be 2. I wish time will slow down a bit.
I got a few shots this weekend on a March of Dimes walk . I'll try to blog them soon. I'm also excited about a few more shoots coming up in May.
I hate to not include a photo on this post so I went to my favorite site for a laugh and found a perfect one for me.

Just Because...

I am overdue on my 48 week photo challenge. I've been a bit busy getting everything ready for Diego's 2nd birthday party. I can't believe my baby is almost 2. Gosh how time flies.

Happy Earth Day!

Earth Day reminds us of our responsibility to save and care for our natural environment. There was an article in Rangefinder (one of my fav photographer magazine) on how to become a Green Photographer. Some of the tips mentioned were going “Digital”. I can’t imagine going any other route. Although I have thought about trying out film at least once to fully see the whole developing process, but for now I’ll stick with the digital world. There were many other options listed from packaging, to framing, to web proofing and even the way prints are done.

A friend of mine recently sent me a link to earth friendly camera bag from Lowerpro. Here’s the link I’m to in love with my shootsac to let it go but I absolutely love the design on these bags. I've thought about using it for a great diaper bag but now a days I don't even carry one with me. We're aiming at having Diego fully potty trained soon. (super excited about it)

I also wanted to mention that Target is giving away free reusable bags which are awesome in celebration of Earth week. I love Target so I have gotten a few of these now. Saves you from having to come back multiples times to the car when putting groceries in. :)

Hero comes home: OP LOVE REUNTED

Today I had the opportunity to meet the M family and welcome their hero a.k.a DAD home. I had a blast and feel blessed to be part of such an amazing day for Mrs M and and her beautiful girls.


I had to add the last shot, which was taken by your adorable future photographer. I absolutely had a blast to have such an amazing little assistant by my side.

I'm in love!

A friend of mine recently let me borrow the 85mm and I seriously wanted to run away with it. I'm in love with this sweet lens. Yesterday Justin and Mary's blog had a great post about lenses and it made me miss this sweet baby so much. Ever since I got my D90 I've become a prime-a-holic. There is so much that I love about it, the quality, the sweet bokeh, I could go on and on... Before saying goodbye I had to take a shot ( sometimes I can be to much of a nerd). :)

Diego's 1st hair cut! 10/48

Frank and I made a decision we thought we never would, YUP.. it was that time.Time for his first hair cut.I was having a hard time letting go of his precious curls, but Diego's hair was out of control and we knew a pair of scissors will get it back in control.Luckily he has plenty of curls. Now I'm adjusting to the fact that my baby is growing to fast.He reached another milestone. He did amazingly well and of course bribing him with a lollipop was the key to put him at ease.On a side note I definitely did not leave the house without my camera but when I got to the car I saw I had forgotten my SD card. :) Mommy brains are not always there. I have more to share but here's one.

Maria and Kevin: Wedding

Last Saturday I had the pleasure to shoot Maria and Kevin's wedding along with Norman . It was a perfect day for a wedding, although the wind was blowing the summer heat through the trees. The ceremony was beautiful and everything seemed to fit perfectly together . This was definitly a new chapter of my life in this wonderful path and I'm excited to share a few.

The flower girl was an absolute delight. She really worked the camera.
